BCLC and Treasure Cove Become Entertainment Sponsors for the 2015 Games

Prince George, BC- The 2015 Canada Winter Games announced today that British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) has joined the team as an Official Sponsor, and Treasure Cove Hotel & Casino will be the 2015 Games’ most recent Community Partner.

As Presenting Sponsor of the 2015 Canada Winter Games’ Festival Main Stage, BCLC will host the music and entertainment to accompany the largest multi-sport competition and cultural event ever to be held in the City of Prince George and northern British Columbia.

“As one of the largest entertainment providers in B.C., we’re pleased to support the 2015 Canada Winter Games to help create amazing memories and a lasting legacy for the City and the region,” said Michael Graydon, BCLC President & CEO. “For nearly 30 years, our goal has been to provide outstanding entertainment and have meaningful impact in communities across B.C. In fact, last year alone, more than $1 billion in gambling proceeds helped fund important health care, education and community programs in the province.”

To complement this strategy, Prince George’s Treasure Cove Hotel & Casino has signed on with the 2015 Canada Winter Games and BCLC as an Official Community Partner of the Games. Treasure Cove Hotel & Casino will sponsor a comprehensive entertainment component of the 2015 Games’ Festival program.

“Our team at Treasure Cove is excited to play a role in the 2015 Canada Winter Games,” said John Major, Owner of Treasure Cove Hotel & Casino. ”Like everyone in the community, we look forward to this incredible event and for our chance to provide exceptional entertainment experiences for everyone to enjoy.”

The 2015 Canada Winter Games’ Festival will take place in the downtown core of Prince George, and the performances on the BCLC Main Stage will be the focal point for the Games Village. There will be nightly music and entertainment for spectators of all ages. The heart of the celebrations during the 2015 Canada Winter Games will be the newly named Canada Games Plaza (currently Civic Plaza).

“The Canada Games are certainly about sport, but the celebrations and entertainment have the potential to really bring people together and will make the 2015 Canada Winter Games a magical and memorable experience for everyone involved, including our thousands of visitors from across the country,” says 2015 Canada Winter Games CEO, Stuart Ballantyne. “BCLC’s investment as a Presenting Sponsor of the Festival Main Stage and the Treasure Cove Hotel & Casino’s participation as an Official Community Partner will help to make that happen.”
