Whistler Blackcomb Announces Telus Partnership Renewal

Multi-year partnership brings free Wi-Fi, charging stations and technology to Whistler Blackcomb guests

Whistler Blackcomb is excited to announce a multi-year renewal of its relationship with TELUS, securing a partnership between the two brands through to 2018. As the preferred wireless, Internet and television services provider of Whistler Blackcomb, this sponsorship will extend a number of benefits to guests, improving the already award winning guest experience at Whistler Blackcomb.

Benefits of the partnership for Whistler Blackcomb guests include:

  • Free TELUS Wi-Fi at all on-mountain restaurants, the Garibaldi Lift Co. (GLC), Merlin’s Bar and Grill, The Wizard Grill and Dusty’s Bar and BBQ. In addition, free TELUS Wi-Fi is available at on-mountain viewing locations at the Peak, Symphony and 7th Heaven.
  • New on-mountain digital information displays on flat-screen TV monitors bringing real-time mountain information to Whistler Blackcomb guests.
  • A new version of the Whistler Blackcomb Live mobile app, powered by TELUS, will be released this fall allowing guests to track their runs with GPS and share and connect with others. The app also provides live condition reports and webcam feeds to ensure a memorable mountain experience.

Over the next seven years, TELUS will direct more than $900,000 to the Whistler Blackcomb Foundation through their partnership with Whistler Blackcomb and by sponsoring Whistler Blackcomb Foundation events such as the TELUS Winter Classic and the TELUS Golf Classic.
