Canada Games Council Selects TwentyTen Group as Strategic Marketing And Sponsorship Agency of Record

Vancouver, B.C. (May 22, 2013) – The TwentyTen Group and the Canada Games Council announced today the establishment of a multi-year partnership to further strengthen sport and community development in Canada through strategic marketing and sponsorship.

The Canada Games are an integral step in the high performance pathway for Canada’s young athletes. The Games are unique to Canada, reinforcing sport’s integral impact on the fabric of our culture by orchestrating the largest national multi-sport events for both summer and winter Games.

“The sheer number of stakeholders, the economic impact, the legacies left within the communities and the return-on-investment driven partnerships built for the Canada Games continue to build our property and ensure that the Canada Games are having the ultimate impact on the development of our next generation of national, international and Olympic champions,” said Tom Quinn, Chairman of the Canada Games Council.

“Building on our momentum requires the right partners around the table,” added Quinn. “Our decision to choose the TwentyTen Group as our sponsorship agency of record only reinforces our commitment to growth and our interest and need to work with the best in Canada.”

The TwentyTen Group will work to identify and secure commercial partnerships and assist in creating authentic marketing activation programs to support the Council and the Host Communities as they bring the Games to life across Canada. The demonstrated success and national reach of the Canada Games provide a powerful value proposition for corporate partners. The Games leave behind multi-faceted legacies in Host Communities across the nation, including athlete and coach development, and infrastructure creation. The upcoming 50th anniversary of the Games in 2017, along with Canada’s 150th anniversary, provides strong alignment for Canadian corporations to be part of the celebration while supporting grassroots sport and community development.

“The Canada Games has an incredible track record for developing amateur and professional sport stars. But the Games represent more than just sport performance; it’s about building stronger communities through sport,” said Andrea J. Shaw, founder and managing partner of the TwentyTen Group. “The TwentyTen Group believes in the power of sport and its ability to unite our country and we are proud to partner with the Canada Games Council to help grow the property and inspire generations of Canadians.”

The Canada Games Council’s partnership with the TwentyTen Group extends through 2017.
